FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions about Dye-Sublimation Printing...

Listed below we have some frequently asked questions, click them for the answer.

Question 12: Do I need to use special paper in my printer?

Unlike normal inkjet printing, where the ink remains in the paper, with dye sublimation, we transfer the ink off the paper again and into the substrate. For this reason, it is advisable to use a special dye sub paper, which is specially formulated to release the ink again.

i-Sub offers two ranges of Dye Sublimation papers. Both are designed to be used with the current 4, 6 and 7 colour printers and offer excellent performance and ink release to maximise transfer to your substrate.

These papers offers excellent dimensional strength under ink heavy ink loads (reduced wet-cockling) and high dye transfer to your end substrate. This results in lower ink limits and approximate ink saving of 25% versus other brands of sublimation media. All this means improved production reliability.
